LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED

Oldham Council is urging residents to "Love Where You Live" by giving up some of their time to improve their neighbourhoods. The ‘Love Where You Live’ initiative – which launched on Valentine’s Day – is believed to be the first time a Local Authority has launched a wide-ranging campaign to promote civic pride. Oldham Council Leader, Jim McMahon, describes it as a “Co-operative approach” to public service where “if everybody does their bit we can make a real difference across our communities”.
HAZLENUT BAKERY OPENS IN DELPH

Don't we all dream sometimes of turning a much loved hobby into our job. That's what has started to happen for Hazel and Chris Jenkins, who have moved house to establish The Hazlenut Bakery in Delph. Hazel told SaddleworthOnline: "we basically started making cakes as a hobby, we both love spending time in the kitchen and I've always wanted to do something creative and then we found something which combines both! The business opened on the 28th January and is starting with opening hours on Saturdays between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm offering cakes and coffee

Saddleworth Hydro is having an Open Day at Saddleworth Sailing Club at Dove Stone reservoir on Saturday 25 February from 11am – 4pm. The Open Day will give potential investors a chance to find out more about the hydro project and talk to the Directors and hydro experts Water Power Enterprises (h2ope) in person.

Police and partners in Oldham have launched a new community surgery for residents living in Saddleworth and Lees.
The surgeries, which will be held every two weeks, start on Tuesday 14 February 2012 between 11am and noon. They will be carried out from Uppermill Library which is based at St Marys Gate, Uppermill.
